Give your arch and heel support!

Heel pain is the most common problem affecting the foot and ankle. When you continue to walk or work on hard surfaces, play sports, or wear shoes or work boots that irritate your feet, heel pain can develop. Every mile you walk puts 60 tons of stress on each foot. It is important to give your feet the heel support they need.

A sore heel may get better on its own, but many of us need to continue walking, working or exercising for our health. With continued stress, an overworked heel can continue to be more and more painful and irritated. If a sore heel develops into a chronic problem, it could lead to more serious complications.

Give your heel support! WalkFit insoles feature a Biofit heel cup, which locks your heel in place, provides orthotic heel support, and keeps your foot from rotating or twisting. Our WalkFit insoles provide both metatarsal and longitudinal support for your feet. By evenly distributing weight across your foot, orthotics provide arch and heel support, and can reduce and prevent foot problems, reducing pain, and increasing your ability to walk, run, stand, and play sports.

WalkFit Orthotics provide extra metatarsal and longitudinal support and cushioning for your feet, while providing superb arch and heel support. Our WalkFit insoles are ideal for complete foot support, comfort, correct posture and mechanics. Our doctor-designed WalkFit Orthotics are a unique foot support system, which provides heel support, relieves over-pronation, and prevents foot strain and injury. Designed with a full-length, prescription-like arch support, our WalkFit Orthotics prevent and treat foot pain. Wearing WalkFit Orthotics give orthotic heel support and arch support, preventing the feet rolling inward (over-pronation), which can pull the entire lower body out of alignment.

Evaluation and treatment
Heel pain can have many causes. If your heel hurts, it may be caused by one or more factors.

Plantar fasciitis
Playing sports with lots of running and jumping, especially on a hard surface, can inflame the tissue band (fascia) connecting the heel bone to the base of the toes. If your heel and arch do not have the proper support while you are playing, this condition can develop quite quickly. The pain is centered under your heel and may be mild at first but flares up when you take your first steps after resting overnight.

Special exercises; taking medication to reduce swelling; and wearing an orthotic heel support, such as WalkFit, can generally remedy this condition without surgery.

Heel spur
If you continue to walk, work, or play sports with plantar fasciitis already in effect, a heel spur or calcium deposit may form where the fascia tissue band connects to your heel bone. Your doctor may take an X-ray to see the spur, which can vary in size. Again, most doctors will recommend wearing an orthotic heel support, or arch and heel support as treatment for a heel spur, if surgery is not indicated. With WalkFit Orthotics, you get doctor-designed arch and heel support at the fraction of the cost of a custom-made orthotic insert. And, WalkFit has been proven to reduce pain in feet, including the heels. In fact, in a scientific study conducted by physicians, this foot pain treatment product, WalkFit foot insoles, helped over 90% of the people tested reduce their pain levels in their feet, knees, spine and pelvis.

Pain behind the heel
If you have pain behind your heel, you may have inflamed the area where the Achilles tendon inserts into the heel bone. This condition can occur when walking or running excessively, or wearing shoes that pinch the back of the heel. Pain behind the heel may build slowly over time, causing the skin to thicken, get red and swell.

This type of heel pain can be prevented, as well as treated, by having the proper heel support that comes from wearing WalkFit orthotic insoles. In addition to having orthotic heel support, treatment can include resting from the activities that caused the problem; doing stretching exercises; possibly using pain medication and wearing open back shoes.

Most often a physician will treat heel pain with orthotics, before resorting to surgery. WalkFit insoles provide true authentic orthotic heel support.
